Welcome to your new ritual
A career on the Cheers set. A bar where everybody knows your name.
Marni spent her early career on the production crew of Cheers. Years later, after a long career in marketing, she opened the bar she'd always wanted on Pacific Coast Highway.
The show. The setup.
Most nights when Marni talks about why she opened a bar, she doesn't start with this bar. She starts with a different one — the one with the wooden sign over the door and the theme song nobody can shake. She spent her early career on the production crew of Cheers, and the lesson she took from it wasn't how to make a TV show. It was how a room becomes a community.
She spent the next chapter of her career in marketing — learning how rooms get built on purpose, how rituals form, how regulars become regulars. That combination — the production side and the marketing side — is unusual for a bar owner. It's the reason Marni's feels the way it does.
The PCH corner.
620 Pacific Coast Highway. Half a mile inland from the sand, half a mile from where Main Street slows down. Seal Beach — the quiet California beach town that tourists drive past on their way to Huntington and realize later they shouldn't have.
Marni's isn't fine dining. It isn't a club. It's Seal Beach's only sports bar — and a neighborhood venue with four things under one roof, each of them done on purpose.
The four pillars
One building. Four reasons to be here.
- 01
Bar & Grill
A real kitchen, not a fryer bolted to a bar.
- 02
Sports
Twenty-four screens, every major league, game sound on the big wall.
- 03
Billiards
Two tables in the back, reservable by the hour.
- 04
Live Music
Real bands Friday, Saturday and Sunday — named up front, never generic.
What we owe every guest.
- You'll be recognized. Regulars get the full treatment. First-timers get the treatment that makes them regulars.
- There's always something on. Sports on the TVs, a band on the stage, a table in the back, a special in the kitchen — we're never "just a bar."
- You'll leave with a story, not a receipt. The memory is the product. The tab is the ticket.
